Evacuation Management
The NSW Evacuation Management Program will assist learners to understand the requirements and impacts of evacuations in a community so they can acquire a foundational knowledge of the complexities and processes that guide planning, implementing, coordinating and managing the five stages of evacuation.

Duration
3-4 hours. Online self-paced course consisting of 8 modules.
Learning outcomes
On completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Understand evacuation management principles and how they apply before and during emergencies
- Contribute towards planning and managing the activities at each stage of the evacuation process (Decision, Warning, Withdrawal, Shelter and Return)
- Contribute to determining the key issues, critical considerations and decisions that are required at each evacuation stage
- Understand the key roles and responsibilities in planning and managing evacuation before and during emergency operations
- Identify ways to engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders at each stage of the evacuation process
- Understand the legislative provisions, policy, guidelines and the NSW emergency management arrangements that relate to community evacuations.
Target audience
The course is for anyone in emergency management or an interest in emergency management.
Assessment
Learners are not formally assessed during the course but are tested with a knowledge quiz on completion of each module. A pass mark of 80 per cent or higher for each quiz is required.
