The aim of this program is to build capability in Non-Technical Skills in Emergency Management. This course highlights the significance of Non-Technical Skills (NTS) in emergency and incident management teams. NTS encompasses the abilities to effectively communicate, make informed decisions, and maintain awareness in dynamic and high pressure situations.

Learning outcomes
Emergency management organisation personnel will at the completion of this module be able to identify the seven key NTS and describe their role in improving the effectiveness of emergency and incident management teams operations. The following learning outcomes will be achieved if you successfully complete this online course:
- Identify and describe the seven NTS relevant to emergency and incident management teams using a common/shared language.
- Recognise NTS and their significance to your role in the context emergency and incident management teams.
- Capacity to review and identify personal NTS skills and development needs.
- Identify and use a range of tools that can be used to support the application and refinement of both individual and team based NTS.
Target audience
Personnel already engaged in or planning to join incident or emergency management teams. It may be particularly relevant for Liaison Officers and emergency management leaders.
Assessment
This course includes embedded knowledge assessments (quizzes and learning activities).
