Emergency Operations Centre Concepts

The Emergency Operations Centre Concepts (EOCC) program will provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be job-ready in an EOC environment. Learners will gain clarity on the tasks, processes and requirements to work in and contribute effectively towards an EOC's operation.

About this course

Duration

3-4 hours. Online self-paced course consisting of 8 modules.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose and functions of an EOC 
  • Outline the roles and responsibilities within an EOC 
  • Support the activation and initiation an EOC 
  • Describe the importance of managing and communicating accurate information and outline effective practices 
  • Collect, collate, interpret, maintain, record information according to procedures 
  • Display, disseminate and communicate information to EOC stakeholders 
  • Contribute towards effective EOC operations in a multi-agency context 
  • Contribute towards closing an EOC according to procedures. 

Target audience

The course is for anyone in emergency management or an interest in emergency management.

Assessment

Learners are not formally assessed during the course but are tested with a knowledge quiz on completion of each module. A pass mark of 80 per cent or higher for each quiz is required.
